Prolific Mark Hix invested a former tram shed from the early twentieth century and this is exactly the place to solve in the blink of an eye the usual challenge: organising dinner for 15 visiting friends who “already know London but not that much actually, it’d be great to hang out East, but we’re not into Peruvian/Mexican/Indian food – We’ll let you pick the place”.

What they’ll remember: dining in Shoreditch next to a gigantic Damien Hirst installation ft. a rooster playing leap-cow in formaldehyde, while feasting on a whole chicken served legs up with a knife up the parson’s nose, or matured beef cuts galore with fries and béarnaise. Wrap it all up by dipping marshmallows and doughnuts into the salted caramel fondue.

Le prolifique Mark Hix a élu domicile dans un ancien hall de gare début XXème. C’est exactement le spot qui résout en deux-deux le challenge du dîner pour 15 potes qui “connaissent Londres mais pas vraiment en fait, mais ce serait quand même cool de dîner à l’Est, mais on est pas très resto péruviano-mexicano-indien, on te laisse choisir”.

Ce qu’ils retiendront : avoir dîné à Shoreditch, sous une gigantesque installation de Damien Hirst avec un coq jouant à saute-vache dans du formol, d’un poulet arrivé les pattes en l’air avec un couteau dans le croupion ou d’une multitudes de morceaux de boeuf maturé avec frites et béarnaise. Pour finir, partagez la fondue de caramel salé, à sauce de chamallows et doughnuts.
