After learning their trade at Portland, Swedish somm Carolina Seibel and Portuguese chef João Ferreira Pinto opened their European-inspired neobistrot at the far end of Stokey. Ticking the ‘now’ boxes without overdoing it: azulejos, exposed bricks, counter dining, industrial hints and an open kitchen.
No need to linger on the mains, stay focused on João’s strong beginning and ending game, awakened by some serious twists: smoked plum stepping up a mini morcella; frozen grapes shaking up a creamy celeriac vichyssoise; passion fruit electrifying a saint-jacques – whilst a pink pepper sauce spices up the pineapple carpaccio. Escort it all with the happy nomadic bottles selected by the punchy Carolina.
New in: the sacred brunch menu on the weekends.
