Food pop-up
The story

We’ve been dreaming for a while about organising pop-up sit-downs in the world’s most beautiful bay, where we’ve been spending all our holidays since we were born.

What’s the idea? Blending our childhood memories with local produce and cosmopolitan waves. Gather friends, family and every Port-Blanc lover around a fabulous feast at the tide’s discretion.

For this first edition on Tuesday 14 August 2018 at 1pm, top Breton ingredients will feel the Asian beat, feet in the water on Balanec island.

Chef François Roche (Les Crayères, Septime, Frenchie) is just back from a six-month trip all around Asia, where he fine-tuned his chopstick skills from Hong Kong to Taiwan, through Tokyo. Cooking a five-course menu, he’ll be waking up some of the region classics with twists learnt along the road.

Valentine Benoist will be looking after the event. Founder of London independent restaurant guide My Hungry Valentine, she also writes about food and travel for various publications and regularly rustles up dinners to highlight the new generation of talented chefs.

Tickets are very limited, so book yours asap!

A foretaste

It’s a melting pot! You can expect the likes of salted butter with Nori seaweeds, Breton sausage in Chinese shrimp wontons, local pork in Japanese ramen, black sesame in the traditional crêpe. And this is just a glimpse!

Booking essential here. €30 per person (excluding booking fees). Five-course set menu, including drinks (cider, craft beer and sobacha infusion).

How to get there

Lunch is happening on Balanec island, which you can access from Buguélès. As it is a private property, you’ll receive all the details by email a few days beforehand. Be careful: don’t be late, if you want to make the most of it. The tide will be low, so you’ll be able to cross by foot or by car both ways.
