05 Oct Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels
The team first invested the London scene in 2011, by exporting the Experimental in Chinatown. Two years later, their wine bar from the Parisian 6th arrondissement followed across the Channel. La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels quietly took possession of the pretty cobbled Neal’s Yard, little corner of gastronomic paradise (cf. The Barbary) a stone away from Covent Garden.
Spread over two floors and a terrace, interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon signs a posh and graphic atmosphere, with a cool vibe. In the plate, the dishes look great thanks to the parade of well sourced products (cheeses from Androuet, cured sausage from Aveyron…), the melting burrata is drizzled with Casanova oil and the croque madame is regularly talked about. As for the long wine list, it blithely mixes exceptional crus and a handful of wines by the glass.
