Israeli radiant couple Sarit Packer and Srulovich Itamar sharpened their kitchen knives at Ottolenghi before settling down here in 2012. Their tiny, homely space—always packed—is complete with preserves, granola, cookbooks on the shelves and colourful cakes at the counter.
It’s a joyful, shimmering Middle Eastern feast: labneh with pumpkin and pepper relish; chicken pastilla; incredibly moist aubergine in a tahini crust served with a peppy cranberry, pomegranate, mint and spring onion rice… Sweet tooth? Go for the kadaïf pastry while you sip on an orange blossom iced tea. And at dinner time, watch as the tables bend under the weight of all the mezzes to share.
