Le Ressac
An island luncheon with François Roche
14 August 2018
The story
We had been dreaming about organising pop-up sit-downs in the world’s most beautiful bay, where we’ve been spending all our holidays since we were born for a while.
The idea? Blending our childhood memories with local produce and cosmopolitan waves. Gather friends, family and every Port-Blanc lover around a fabulous feast at the tide’s discretion.
For this first edition on Tuesday 14 August 2018 at 1pm, top Breton ingredients felt the Asian beat, feet in the water on Balanec island.
Chef François Roche (Les Crayères, Septime, Frenchie) was just back from a six-month trip all around Asia, where he fine-tuned his chopstick skills from Hong Kong to Taiwan, through Tokyo. Cooking a five-course menu, he woke up some of the region classics with twists learnt along the road.
My Hungry Valentine co-created the event and looked after the organisation and promotion. It was sold out within minutes!
