Around since 1972, Tayyabs is the family-run reference curry house of any Punjabi food fan. It’s loud, it’s packed, tables pile up in every corner, the bill is ridiculously low and the smell sticks around for a week.

Whatever the day or the hour, with or without reservation, you’ll probably have to queue another hours before digging into their meaty - and fiery - specialties: grilled lamb chops, dry meat curry, chicken Karahi… The Baingun lentils and baby aubergine dahl is worth ordering too, so are the naans. To calm down with a mango lassi or whatever else you fancy - it’s BYOB with no corkage, as you can hear.
