Off Leather Lane, a little green neon light discreetly announces the place challenging the classic fine dining. In the simple well-thought room (school chairs, wooden table, Tom Dixon ceiling lights...), Mark Jarvis (Texture) and his professional yet cool staff highlight Jack Cashmore’s (late In De Wulf) ambitious but unpretentious British cuisine.

The seven-course tasting menu starts off with an excellent homemade sourdough bread and soft yeast butter, before making wonders (also thanks to the serious drinks pairing): surprising chive powder and burnt leek tartlet introducing a raw squash with creamy burrata; perfectly cooked cod and wild duck; melting Coulommiers cheese on malt toast escorted by semi-brut Urban Orchard cider… Before melting when faced with the many desserts: fantastic sea buckthorn, horseradish and caramel; chocolate and beer; apple with caramelised ricotta to wrap it up. The end, encore please.
