29 Jan Barrafina Coal Drops Yard
So yes, on paper it’s a pain, you have to queue for hours or accept to dine at 17:30, all that to finish clustered along the bar… But do. Barrafina is the perfect tapas bar magic formula. Working for a quick drink and tapas para picar standing or a full dining feast, cocooned by the so nice Spanish waiters while peaking in the kitchen.
The original spread once again, this time in spanking new Coal Drops Yard, with exposed beams and a private dining room overlooking the canal. A couple of tables add on to the same classic red leather stools and gleaming marble bar, from where you can enjoy the classic comfy pan con tomate, oozing tortilla and ace stuffed courgette flowers, but also a few specials such as the addictive arroz negro, Iberian pork and romesco, the tasty baby squid in its ink and the creamy tozinillo de cielo with lemon sorbet to round it all. Cheered by an unfiltered house manzanilla or a Pares Balta Cava Brut, por favor.
