19 Dec Artusi
In pretty Peckham main street, this black-white-light wood Italian neobistrot is taken by storm every weekend by neighbours in search of comfort. The reason? A chalkboard seasonal menu at absolutely unbeatable prices: 3 courses for £20.
Or the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon to discuss anything and everything, tucking into an ox tongue with horseradish followed by sausage-nduja fusilli and a gargantuan tiramisu, washed down with a bottle of Sicilian nero d’avola (2014 Cento Cavalli) and a limoncello, while the night falls and the rain drizzles. Even better on the large guest table welcoming up to 18 mates.
On the other days, the weekly changing menu keeps its Italian accent, between the homemade ricotta-Padrón peppers-capers, the tagliatelle all’amatriciana and the olive oil cake.
