Chef José Pizarro, who needs no introduction, has spread to South London with its take on the Spanish tapas and sherry bar. At the corner of Bermondsey Street, the few places of at the micro tiled counter are quickly taken.
Pass the door, dive into a cool yet rustic vibe. Left side of the counter is the tiny open kitchen, on the right products parade under the window. The hand cut jamón catches your eye in the background, while the smell of croquetas starts to tickle. Time to start tucking into the soft pan con tomate, a few Marcona almonds to accompany one of the many sherrys by the glass, some delicious patatas bravas and crispy fried calamari La vida loca, somewhat accelerated by the insistent waitress.
